Altruistic

I wish I was altruistic

I wish I did no wrong

I wish that I was perfect,

but it wouldn’t last long…

If I was completely selfless,

I’d give out so much help.

I’d be in perfect spirits,

and riding how that felt.

I’d always get the call

when someone needs a hand,

I’d convince my boss

to not get that guy canned.

I’d walk into a coffee shop

and buy everyone a round,

I’d make everyone laugh,

‘cause you know it’s a great sound.

I’d give it all up,

let everyone have it all,

and I wouldn’t make them wait,

I wouldn’t make them stall-

Empty my wallet,

raid my fridge,

take my cards

and buy yourself a bridge-

Do what you want,

my stuff is yours,.

I’m being selfless,

Don’t mind me, I’ll be poor.

I’’ll forget myself

because everyone else matters

I do not

so go on and patter,

walk all over me,

take everything I have,

because I’m altruistic,

I guess I’ll go mad.

I don’t want to be altruistic,

I guess I’ll do some wrong,
